Reason to drain and not draining the pool at the same time:

We drain the pool so that when it rains, the pool does not overflow and damage other component of the property. You can drain the above ground pool and the spa/hottub completely.

But never drain the in-ground pool completely. It causes popping up. As the above ground pools and hottubs have no issue of popping up, they can be drained 100%.
