Instruction:

1. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors should be installed on every level of a home, including the basement, and near sleeping areas. Smoke detectors should be installed on the ceiling or high on the walls, while carbon monoxide detectors are best placed on a wall about 5 feet above the floor.

2. Never install a smoke/CO detector in the KITCHEN.
